Lily is 23, young, free and single and waiting for her life to start, but she’s hit a bump. Bump is a tale of some of the awkward encounters and nauseating moments that make up a girl’s life. Meet Lily and hear her story as she confronts her choices in the waiting room of an abortion clinic. Bump is a visceral and fast paced one-woman show exploring the journey of childhood to womanhood.
Bump is co-devised by Rosa Bowden (Two-time winner of the ISDA for Best Director in 2015 & 2016, former UCD Ad Astra Performing Arts Scholar.), Rosa Torr (trained with Fourth Monkey Theatre Company London for a year in workshops and repertory performances in both London and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, former UCD Ad Astra Performing Arts Scholar) and Cathal Sheerin (directing credits include: On Raftery’s Hill by Marina Carr, The Cordelia Dream by Marina Carr, Brief Interviews with Hideous Men (adapted by Cathal for the stage from a short story). Cathal held the position of treasurer of UCD Dramsoc in its 89th Session and is part of the Abbey Theatre Front of House team.). The production team boasts ISDA Winner for Best Lighting Design, Shane Gill, Kelley Gissane (former Artistic Intern at Dublin Theatre Festival and Smock Alley: Smock Generator Creative Producing
Graduate) as producer and Ailish Toal (current Auditor of UCD Dramsoc) as Associate Producer.
