Screening of Polish film ‘Solidarity According to Women’ in Aid of Together for Yes campaign.

Join us for an inspirational evening with a film about women in political movements, followed by Polish snacks and friendly chats. Speakers TBC.

The feature-length documentary entitled ‘Solidarity According to Women’ is a story about some of the brave Polish women whose wisdom, determination and commitment in the opposition movement of the 1980s helped bring about a change of the political reality in Poland. The link between two aspects of the film is Marta Dzido – its co-director and narrator. Born in 1981, being a symbolic daughter of the Solidarity movement, Dzido makes an attempt at locating and reinstating women who were written out of recent Polish history.

The directors of the film, Marta Dzido and Piotr Śliwowski, have kindly waved the license fee in solidarity with the pro-choice campaign in Ireland.

Ticket: 10 euro, at the door
Pro-choice merchandise will be available at the event.

All profits from the tickets and merchandise will be donated to Together for Yes.

Pełnometrażowy film dokumentalny “Solidarność według kobiet” opowiada historię kilkunastu odważnych Polek, których mądrość, determinacja i zaangażowanie w opozycję lat 80 wpłynęły na zmianę realiów politycznych w Polsce. Tym, co spaja dwie płaszczyzny filmu – historyczną i współczesną, jest postać współreżyserki i narratorki – Marty Dzido, urodzonej w 1981 roku symbolicznej córki Solidarności.

Dziękujemy reżyserom filmu – Marcie Dzido i Piotrowi Śliwowskiemu, którzy w ramach solidarności z Irlandzką kampanią Together for Yes za usunięciem 8. poprawki, zgodzili się na wyświetlenie bez opłaty.
