Together for Yes officially launches Poster Campaign

‘Sometimes a private matter needs public support’ appears on first wave of posters for national civil society campaign

Together for Yes, the national campaign to remove the 8th amendment, this morning launched its poster campaign.

The campaign’s three Co-Directors, Orla O’Connor, Ailbhe Smyth and Grainne Griffin were accompanied by campaign team members as they erected the campaign’s first poster outside campaign headquarters in Dublin City Centre.

Appearing on the poster is the statement, “Sometimes a private matter needs public support.”

Up to 10,000 posters will be issued by Together For Yes throughout the course of the referendum campaign.

Ailbhe Smyth, Campaign Co-Director said: “Sometimes a private matter needs public support. This is the central message on our posters because it speaks to the core issue at the heart of the upcoming referendum – that the decision to have an abortion is a personal, private matter for women and their families. This is the first wave of our posters, and we plan to issue up to 10,000 in total over the course of the campaign.”

Tomorrow, the campaign will launch a crowdfunding campaign to raise €50,000 to fund 5,000 posters.
